Here's a link to a trailer website, for the videogame, Destiny 2. I'm a very big fan of the game developer, Bungie's, previous franchise, Halo, and have come to enjoy this new game as well when I have the time to play.

What strikes me first as successful is the moving images that display across the page as you open it. I feel like this can be more succesful than a video for something like a game or a full length movie, as people tend to be annoyed by videos playing and sound automatically starting. These non-intrusive videos playing on the screen work very well for a large project with much to showcass, such as Destiny 2. I also love the full screen, borderless aspect of these videos. Currently there's a banner on the top to countdown the release of the game on PC, but it regularly is just the menubar, and a full screen of content.

From here, they allow you to either watch the full length trailer in regular video format, or allow you to order the game. Those are the two main objectives of this site, to promote and inform, as well as well, so it makes sense to have these options front and center. If you go down, a few characters from the game are selected, each with a trailer of their own. All of this content is great for capturing the user's interest.

The site begins to give more textual information, and linking to different pages with this information, each about a different section of the game. It also gives reviews, awards, the ability to order the game, a link to the developer's website, and sponsors.

I may be a bit bias as a fan of the series, but I think this is a great trailer website. While there's a ton of video, I think a screenshot section would have been beneficial, but totally not required. Design wise I think it's excellent too. The color scheme of while and gold matches the game very well, and differentiates itself from the first game, which had a bit of a darker vibe to it, and mostly consisted of dark blues, greys, and black values.

Here are links to my early website designs. I worked on a Splash Page, and a Video Page. Both images link to the same photoshop file.
